Doctors’ Day Message from ISKCON: Celebrating Healers of Body and Soul

July 2nd, 2025

In the light of the Bhagavad Gita, true wellness is not just the absence of disease, but the harmony of the body, mind, and soul.

Just as Lord Krishna guides Arjuna to rise above bodily designations and understand the eternal nature of the soul (Gita 2.13, 2.20), a true healer also helps their patients not only externally through medicine, but internally—by nurturing peace, purpose, and devotion.

Wellness means both body and soul stay healthy.

Treating the symptoms of the body is essential, but nurturing the spiritual health of the individual is eternal service. A Krishna-conscious doctor sees the patient not just as a body, but as an ātmā, a spiritual being temporarily residing in a material body.

Let us celebrate those doctors who combine science with spirituality, and compassion with consciousness.

"Yogah karmasu kaushalam" (Gita 2.50) – May your medical seva be guided by skill in action and purity of intent.

May Lord Krishna bless all doctors with strength, wisdom, and devotion, so they continue their divine service with heart and soul.
