The Appearance Day of HDG Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda
On the auspicious occasion of the appearance day of HDG Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda, sacred memories naturally arise. One such profoundly moving remembrance is the darśana of his room at Ulta Danga Junction, Kolkata—a place charged with divine resolve and spiritual history.
It was here, in this very room, that Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura issued his historic command to HDG Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda:
“If you ever get money, print books.”
And more importantly, he instructed him to preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness in the English language to the Western world.
That divine order became the seed of a global spiritual revolution. From this small, simple room emerged the mission that would later flood the world with Hari-nāma, Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and pure devotion.
Remembering Ulta Danga is not merely recalling a place—it is remembering the moment when the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was decisively set into motion for the whole world.
All glories to Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda, the fearless ācārya, and all glories to his empowered servant Śrīla Prabhupāda, who fulfilled that divine order beyond all imagination. 🙏
