Inside Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's Sacred Residence: Rare Relics & the Birth of Lord Caitanya's Global Mission

Today, on the auspicious occasion of the Tirobhāva Utsava of Saccidānanda Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, sharing my great fortune of visiting few months back at his sacred residence in Kolkata.
These photographs capture some of the most cherished relics associated with his divine pastimes:
• The bed on which Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura rested during his final earthly moments before entering his eternal nitya-līlā.
• His personal japa-mālā and kaṇṭhī-mālā, lovingly preserved as sacred reminders of his life of constant harināma and pure devotion.
• His landmark book, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: His Life and Precepts, published in 1896 and sent by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura to scholars and institutions in foreign countries to introduce the teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to the Western world. Significantly, 1896 was also the year in which His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda, the Founder-Ācārya of ISKCON, appeared, later fulfilling his spiritual predecessor's vision by spreading Lord Caitanya's message across the globe.
All glories to Saccidānanda Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, the pioneer of Lord Caitanya's worldwide mission and one of the greatest ācāryas of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava sampradāya.

Reading about Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura’s house transported me back to a pilgrimage I made to Mayapur as a teenager, when I first stood in the very courtyard where the saint once walked.
