Ekādaśī is never meant for pitṛ–kārya (ancestral rites). This sacred day is exclusively reserved for Hari–bhajana, nāma–saṅkīrtana, and fasting for the pleasure of Lord Viṣṇu.
📖 In the Hari–bhakti–vilāsa (compiled by Śrī Sanātana Gosvāmī), it is clearly stated that no other rituals—even śrāddha or piṇḍa–dāna—should be performed on Ekādaśī.If one performs such rites on this day, the results do not reach the ancestors; instead, it is considered an aparādha to Lord Viṣṇu, because the day belongs solely to Him.
🌿 Therefore, Gauḍīya ācāryas like Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura and Śrīla Prabhupāda have instructed:👉 If the śrāddha–tithi falls on Ekādaśī, postpone it to Dvādaśī (the next day).👉 On Ekādaśī, only engage in harināma, bhāgavata–śravaṇa, kīrtana, and Viṣṇu–sevā.👉

If absolutely necessary, offer only banana and milk on Ekādaśī — but never grains, which should be offered only on Dvādaśī.
✨ Let us honor this sacred vow and dedicate Ekādaśī fully to the service of Lord Hari. ✨
